10 Dining Rooms That Went Over To The Dark Side (In a Good Way)

The dining room is a curious feature of the home; sometimes a small table and chairs squeezed into a kitchen corner, at other times a grand, candelabra filled expanse of a room – and much in between. Whatever the size, it’s the perfect space to experiment with bolder colour and schemes.

Using a dark colour in a dining room can work well by night and day. During the day, a dark shade can provide an enveloping, cocooning feel that allows a place for relaxation and escape. By night the same dark tones can create a sense of intimacy, especially with the flicker of well placed candles.

So for your inspirational delectation, here are 10 dark dining rooms that embrace the dark:

I read a novella in which a homeowner painted his dinner room dark like these. I couldn’t imagine it, and thought it couldn’t possibly look good.
These rooms have convinced me otherwise.
While my personal preference would be for a red such as Eating Room Red or Book Room Red, these dark rooms are outstanding.
