Get the Look…Marni Mansion style

An abandoned ancient mansion, empty but for five enigmatic ladies wafting around in their finest – some of them perched on velvet armchairs, upholstered printed sofas and a bed dressed in green linen that perfectly matches the curtains. One of them is hanging out of the window leaving only a fabulous printed dress and riding boots visible to anyone watching from the room…

This is the latest Marni advertising campaign for Autumn/winter 2016-17, shot by Hellen Van Meene and styled by Lucinda Chambers. Yes, it’s suggesting the next set of outfits you’ll want. But it’s also a well of inspiration for us decorating-obsessives doing up our own mansions/homes/bedsits. From the muted colour combos – often featuring a flash of something brighter from a shoe or a shirt cuff – to the fringing on the seats, the heavy use of velvet to the way that sections of the wall panelling is picked out with wallpaper – it’s all highly stealable.
