See this: The Brighton Photo Biennial

One of Britain’s biggest international photography festivals, Brighton Photo Biennial, opens this month and runs until the 2 November. Exhibiting work is the artist Lydia Goldblatt, whose photograph Red Shoes is taken from her book Still Here, an account of the artist’s family home and the changes emerging as her parents age.

In Red Shoes, a portrait of her mother, the colours are a striking combination of warm autumnal shades with a jolt of cool blue.
