Milan Design Week 2016 Trend Spotting – Cacti

Our roving reporter Charlie Cosby has been relentless searching the halls of Milan Design Week 2016 to find the most interesting trends…

I hate to admit it but I am one of the many who has fallen prey to the lure of the succulent and cactus trend. I can’t help it. I really love them. For fellow enthusiasts here are my top 5 from Milan Design Week:

1. Cactus on Wheels.

Found this beauty in Lambrate in the ‘Reset’ exhibition.

2. Cardboard cut out cactus

I think this is a succulent but cactus sounded better. This little chap can be found in the designers block exhibit on via Tortona.

3. Hairy cactus in cork.

Hairy Cactus and friends can be found on the De Corchos stand in Lambrate.

4. Neon acrylic Cactus.

These two are tiny but giant versions are also available

5. In a saucepan Cactus.

Not part of an exhibit but just happened to spot on the window sill next to the Marcel Wanders ‘Cybex’ collection.

More trends and observations to come!
